Jesus Is Just Alright (reprise) Lyrics

Jesus is still alright with me
Jesus is still alright, oh yeah
Jesus is still alright with me
Jesus is still alright, yeah
Toby Mac and the Mac is back no slack
On a DC track that's jacked
Beyond comprehension
I believe that I failed to mention that
There's a lack of recognition
When it comes to His position
'Cause if Christ can't be crossed over
Then I'll keep my beat up Nova
Jesus is still alright with me
Jesus is still alright, oh yeah
Jesus is still alright with me
Jesus is still alright, yeah
I don't care what they may say
I don't care what they may do

I don't care what they may say
Jesus is still alright, He's alright with me ya
Back in place, and I'm all up in your face
With a rhyme that I embrace
Like a mother to her child
I'm kickin' it Jesus style
To the ones that think they heard
I did use the "J" word
'Cause I ain't too soft to say it
Even if DJ's don't play it
Do do do dupe dupe dupe do do
Do do do dupe dupe dupe do do
Do do do dupe dupe dupe do do
Jesus is still alright
Oh, I'm hopin' and I'm praying
Jesus is still alright
Jesus is still alright, oh yeah
Jesus is still alright
Jesus is still alright, yeah
Jesus don't ya know, He's my friend
And I said Jesus, He is my friend
He took me by the hand
[Inaudible] land
Jesus, He's my friend
I'm down with the one that is known as the Son
Of the G to the O to the D never done
With the flow, in the know, on the go like a pro
Not for show 'cause I ain't in the biz for the dough
Or the me, or the ray, all the dough's gotta stay
'Cause I can't, no I can't, take it home anyway
Never trite when I write 'cause the Lord is my light
And His Word is my bond so ya know, know, know He's alright
Jesus is still alright with me
Jesus is still alright, oh yeah
Jesus is still alright with me
Jesus is still alright
And I don't care what they may say
I don't care what they may do
I don't care what they may say
Jesus is still alright
Do do do dupe dupe dupe do do
Do do do dupe dupe dupe do do
Do do do dupe dupe dupe do do
Jesus is still alright
He's alright

dc Talk is made up of Toby McKeehan (TobyMac), Michael Tait, and Kevin Max.

The three met while they were young men at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. They formed the band dc Talk (a reference to Washington D.C., but later marketed as 'decent Christian talk' by their label) and, as of the year 2000, spent twelve solid years together, performing all over the world, recording 6 albums, and earning many awards, including 4 Grammy awards.

Their music, aimed at a younger audience, combined hip-hop, rap, and R&B sensibilities and filled a gap in 1980s Christian Music and gave them a unique niche. Their first three albums, dc Talk, Nu Thang, and Free At Last started from their rap/hip-hop roots but increasingly included melodic vocal rock influences. Their 1995 studio album, Jesus Freak, continued this musical evolution by eshewing almost all rap elements and adopting a harder modern rock/grunge sound on many songs, especially the title track. Their most recent studio album, Supernatural, draws on their previous efforts while moving towards mainstream pop stylings.

Their signature sound in all albums is their use of the three members' different vocal skills separately and together. They are often lauded for their lyrical sophistication, addressing many themes in Christian theology, faith, and practice.

After more than ten years together as a group, they are taking a break in recording together to pursue their own activities outside of the band, and launch solo careers in recording music. Michael Tait formed his own band, Tait, and has most recently served as the frontman for Newsboys. Toby McKeehan has released music under the name TobyMac, and has been the most sucessful of the three. Kevin Max has released two solo albums of his own.
