Just Too Much To Hope For Lyrics

(Too much to hope for, baby)
(Too much to hope for, honey)
Pardon me, I'm sorry
But I just had to call you on the phone
Sitting here in my lonely room
Darling, so all alone, staring at the floor
Wishing that you'd walk through the door
But darling, I know it's just too much to hope for(Too much to hope for, baby)
(Too much to hope for, honey)
Darling, please be kind to me
At least just once in a while?
If you pass me on the street
Would you flash me just a little smile?
'Cause darling, I know if I ask for anything more
Surely it would be just too much to hope for(Too much to hope for, baby)
(Too much to hope for, honey)
I tried so hard to keep you for myself
But now I know I've lost you, darling, to somebody else

Darling, I'm not blaming you for all of my misery
The only thing I ask of you is, would you try to comfort me?
'Cause all I have in store is heartaches galore
And getting you back is just too much to hope for(Too much to hope for, baby)
(Too much to hope for, honey)
Darling, I know it's just too much to hope for
(Too much to hope for, baby)(Too much to hope for, honey)
Getting you back is just too much to hope for
(Too much to hope for, baby)
(Too much to hope for, honey)
Darling, I know [unverified]
