Just You Tonight Lyrics

It's not the altitude
That takes my breath away
And makes my body think the air's too thin
It's not the bourbon, you've been drinking
That burns like autumn leaves against my skinIt's just you, you tonight
And the music you heard in me somehow
It's just you tonight
And I swear to you I'm listening nowIt's not a fable
That give meaning
To the language my heart speaks to you
It's not road map
That tells me I've come home
Lying here in the quiet next to youIt's just you, you tonight
And the music you heard in me somehow
It's just you tonight
And I swear to you I'm listening nowWhen you whisper my name
It's like I can hear
All these melodies I used to know

I remember them from long agoIt's just you, you tonight
And the music you heard in me somehow
It's just you tonight
And I swear to you I'm listening nowI'm listening nowI'm listening nowI'm listening nowI'm listening now

Lucy Kaplansky (born 1960) is a folk musician. Originally from Chicago, at the age of 18 she moved to New York City, where she became involved in the city's Greenwich Village folk music scene. In 1983, she decided to become a psychologist, enrolling in Yeshiva University. She continued playing music while completing her PhD, and began to have some success as part of a duo with Shawn Colvin. However, when they began to attract record company interest, Kaplansky declined, choosing instead to set up a private practice and become a staff psychologist at a New York hospital.
