Just a Dream Lyrics

Was I dreaming?
Was I awake?
Or did you come home
Today?
For the rest of my life
A little pity
For the rest of our lives
A little pity
Pick up your stones
And go to work on my bones
And then tell me if they'll be alright
I'll come 'round for this moment
The only other moment
To see you when you're down
I'll come 'round, I'll come around
See you when you're down
This is a mistake
Long roads never cast

The long burning embers of your heart
When the sun rose, the surface
It removed the reflection of you
Long roads don't mean anything to me now
They're gone and done
Into the sun for now
Pick up your stones
And go to work on my bones
And then tell me if they'll be alright
I'll come 'round for this moment
The only other moment
To see you when you're down
I'll come 'round, I'll come around
See you when you're down
This is a mistake

Big Bill Broonzy (June 26, 1893 – August 15, 1958) was a prolific American blues singer, songwriter and guitarist. His career began in the 1920s when he played country blues to mostly African-American audiences. Through the 1930s and 1940s he successfully navigated a transition in style to a more urban blues sound popular with working class African-American audiences. In the 1950s a return to his traditional folk-blues roots made him one of the leading figures of the emerging American folk music revival and an international star.
