Keep Away from Other Girls Lyrics

A hundred times or more
You used that line beforeYou gave me everything that a girl could want
In that small restaurant
A hero sandwich and a glass of wine
A smile, a joke and oh, such a great big lineYou better keep away from other girls
Keep away from other girls
Dont break my heart, just to be smart
You gotta keep away from other girlsYou told me everything that I longed to hear
Mixed my dreams with instant cheer
Gave my world such a rainbow shine
A smile, a joke and oh such a great big lineYou better keep away from other girls
Keep away from other girls
Dont break my heart, just to be smart
You gotta keep away from other girlsA hundred times or more
You used that line beforeWhen you were close to me in that corner booth
Was it love? Now tell the truth
You held me closer than a clinging vine
A smile, a joke, a smile, a joke, and oh such a great big lineYou better keep away from other girls

Keep away from other girls
Dont break my heart, just to be smart
You gotta keep away from other girlsYou gotta keep away from other girls
Keep away from other girls
Dont break my heart, just to be smart
You gotta keep away from other girlsA hundred times or more
You used that line before

Helen Shapiro is remembered today by younger pop culture buffs as the slightly awkward actress/singer in Richard Lester's 1962 debut feature film, It's Trad, Dad. From 1961 until 1963, however, Shapiro was England's teenage pop music queen, at one point selling 40,000 copies daily of her biggest single, "Walking Back to Happiness," during a 19-week chart run. A deceptively young 14 when she was discovered, Shapiro had a rich, expressive voice properly sounding like the property of someone twice as old, and she matured into a seasoned professional very quickly.
