Little Miss Lonely Lyrics

Oh I cried last night
How I cried last night
For I knew warning you've given me last night
Now it's over yes its over
And all my tears are all too late
I won't sleep tonight
I will weep tonight
But the year fill with tears would not put this right
For I have lost you, I lost you
Now I'm only little miss lonely
A tear is such a very lonely thing
But crying is the only thing that I can find to do since I lost you
I'm wiser now, so much wiser now
But my wisdom is the wisdom of a fool somehow
For I love you, I still love you
But I'm only little miss lonely

Helen Shapiro is remembered today by younger pop culture buffs as the slightly awkward actress/singer in Richard Lester's 1962 debut feature film, It's Trad, Dad. From 1961 until 1963, however, Shapiro was England's teenage pop music queen, at one point selling 40,000 copies daily of her biggest single, "Walking Back to Happiness," during a 19-week chart run. A deceptively young 14 when she was discovered, Shapiro had a rich, expressive voice properly sounding like the property of someone twice as old, and she matured into a seasoned professional very quickly.
