Keep Comin' Back Lyrics

I've been to heaven before
But I must have been too young to realize
I wouldve stayed there
If I had known about my paradiseWhat a time to believe
I could make it on my own
What a lesson to learn
Widen up, you're all aloneI tried to run away but I just
Keep comin' back to you
I keep comin' back to you
No one ever really loved me
Not the way that you do
I keep comin' back to youThere was a time in my life
When everything was all about change
I'm not ashamed to admit
There's one thing that still remains the sameAll the stars pave a way
All I did was think of you
All the love that I missed
Now I know just what to doI tried to run away

But I just keep comin' back to you
I keep comin' back to you
No one ever really loved me
Not the way that you doKeep comin' back to you
Keep comin' back to you, baby, baby
No one ever really loved me
Not the way that you doTell me that nothin' is changed
Tell me you want me to stay
I keep comin' back
Keep comin' backI try to runaway but I just
Keep comin' back to you
Said, I'm gonna keep comin' back to you
No one ever really loved me
Not the way that you doKeep comin' back to you
Keep comin' back to you
No one ever really loved me
Not the way that you doKeep comin' back to you
Keep comin' back to you
No one ever really loved me
Not the way that you doKeep comin' back
Keep comin' back to you
No one ever really loved me
Not the way that you do
Keep comin' back to you

Tower of Power is a horn-based funk/soul band from Oakland, California. In the mid-1960s, 17-year-old tenor saxophonist Emilio Castillo moved from Detroit, Michigan, to Fremont, California. He started a band called the Motowns, specializing in soul music. In 1968, Castillo teamed up with baritone saxophonist Stephen "The Funky Doctor" Kupka and trumpet/trombone player Mic Gillette, moved to Oakland, and began writing original material. They changed the band's name to Tower of Power and began playing frequently in the Bay Area.
