Keep Pushing Me Lyrics

Every time I see your face
I’m lost for words I don’t know what to say
You’re smiling at me like a wolf
I close my eyes as my skin crawls away
You go keep on making lists
I’ll be happy making my mistakes
You’ll be ticking off your boxes
I will be busy planning my escape
I won’t stay but I can’t leave
Some twisted sense of loyalty
And you make me love the things I hate
Keep pushing me, pushing me, keep pushing me away
Please keep pushing me, pushing me, keep pushing me away
You’re stripping wings off butterflies just to hide the pain you feel inside
So keep telling yourself you’re in charge, telling yourself it will be alright
When you stay happy in the dark, I’ll be out drifting out towards light
When you start to speakyour mind, I will just turn around and roll my eyes---

I won’t stay but I can’t leave
Some twisted sense of loyalty
oh, you make me love the things I hate
Keep pushing me, pushing me, keep pushing me away
Please keep pushing me, pushing me, keep pushing me away
(woooah, uh ohhh)
Stop breathing down my neck,
Do you understand me, yeah?
Sometimes you have to lose
Living life for me not for you (ohhhh)
I won’t stay but I can’t leave
Some twisted sense of loyalty
You make me love the things I hate
Keep pushing me, pushing me, keep pushing me away
( x 2)
So, please keep pushing me, pushing me, keep pushing me away

Gabrielle Aplin is the whipsmart teenage sensation with spirit in her voice and ability to bottle melodic lightning who, at 14, wrote her first song, Ghosts. At 17, she made it the title track of her first EP. At the same age, she set up her own label, Never Fade Records. Soon she had landed herself a booking agent and was plotting her own tours round the UK. By 18 she had released two further EPs and was running a profit making DIY artist’s enterprise – with plans already afoot to plough those profits back into other similarly inclined musicians she’d encountered along the way.
