King Without a Queen Lyrics

Indigo light as the day starts to fade
Still enough light for me to stand in your shade
I have developed a good idea
Oh, of the words you love
Yeah, what you wanna hear? All alone with the wind whistling 'round your throneAnd I know it wears you down so slowly
You chased me all around just to show me
That your head is hanging down
From the weight of your own crown
You're a king without a queenStop the thunder when you come around
And the white lighting that burns me to the ground
You say you wanted it, just not now
[Incomprehensible] should I be afraid
Or maybe you'll show me howAll alone with the wind whistling 'round your throneAnd I know it wears you down so slowly
You chased me all around just to show me
That your head is hanging down
From the weight of your own crown
You're a king without a queen, oh, a king without a queenAll alone with the wind whistling 'round your throneAnd I know it wears you down, so slowly
You chased me all around just to show me

That your head is hanging down
From the weight of your own crown
You're a king without a queen, oh, a king without a queenSaddest thing Ill ever sing
Oh, a king without a queen, king without a queen

Dion & the Belmonts were a leading American vocal group of the late 1950s. The group formed when Dion DiMucci joined The Belmonts - Carlo Mastrangelo, Fred Milano (August 22, 1939 - January 1, 2012), and Angelo D'Aleo - in late 1957. After an unsuccessful first single, the group were signed to Laurie Records. Their breakthrough came when "I Wonder Why" made # 22 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and the group appeared for the first time on the Dick Clark TV show. They followed it with the ballads "No One Knows" (#19) and "Don't Pity Me" (#40).
