Michael Wollny, Eva Kruse and Eric Schaefer are right in the centre of a burgeoning European jazz explosion. Wollny is one of the most promising young pianists in Germany today, one that is classically trained but for whom improvisation has always played an important role. He has played with legendary saxophonist Heinz Sauer as part of the Heinz-Sauer-Sextet. Their album "Melancholia" received the Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik in 2005.
