Lay Something on My Bed Besides a Blanket Lyrics

Your home has been a 4-lane highway
Just like my nights, they're oh, so long
You sing a song, I did it my way
That doesn't mean it's right or wrong
Used to be we made love
We seldom make it anymoreLay something on my bed besides a blanket
Dreams won't keep me warm when it's cold
Lay something on my bed besides a blanket
Somethin' big and strong, somethin' to hold ontoJust take the time and lay beside me
You won't need words to understand
This heart of mine just wants to please you
And you're the only one that canLay something on my bed besides a blanket
Dreams won't keep me warm when it's cold
Lay something on my bed besides a blanket
Somethin' big and strong, somethin' to hold onto

Early life Childhood & teen years
Charlotte Denise McClain was born in Memphis, Tennessee in 1956. Originally named Charlotte, "Charly" was given her masculine moniker by neighborhood friends in Memphis, and she also used it when she started playing hotel lounges. When Epic Records decided it sounded catchier than Charlotte, it became a permanent professional banner. [1] McClain's father had tuberculosis when she was eight, and, since she was under age for visitation rights at the hospital, she had to communicate with him through a tape recorder. [2]
