Leaving Home Lyrics

East Coast trains run slow
And Edinburgh seems cold
For eighteen year old's freedom
But Leith feels like New York
All the cars and talk
Moving down the walk all day
So I'm lying in this hotel
Hearing sirens and drunken fights
But I paid cash to the angels
Guarding me tonight
So I'm lying in this hotel
Hearing sirens and drunken fights
And I paid cash to the angel
Guarding me tonight

Dundee's on my own
Cry when I come home
Have to carry on somehow
Leith could be New York
All the cars and talk
Moving down the walk all day

The Amber Herd are a five piece alternative rock band from Nottingham and Chesterfield. ‘Conventional’ is not a word that applies to The Amber Herd. Formed in Nottingham in 2007 and consisting of members from all over the country that independently all converged on the East Midlands, drawing on influences from thrash metal to traditional folk whilst bringing life to the kind of vivid pictures and swirling soundscapes that LSD was designed for, The Amber Herd are anything but ordinary.
