Leftovers Lyrics
I scrape whatever's left of my dinner off of the plate,
and into the garbage, it isn't that late
It's just 3 in the morning,
hey, I'm still awake,
Maybe today I'll tackle the dishes piled up in the sink
or I'll take out the garbage, or just sit on the couch and drink,
or you could come back, baby you should come back.
I'll watch TV and wake up the neighbors
They bang on the floor, complain to the land lord,
and leave notes on my door, "they have to work in the morning"
but that's not my fault
These days I sleep till noon every morning, and I don't answer the phone
I fall asleep on the couch, and then order Chinese,
I probably ordered to much, but it'll last for a week
(CHORUS)
and if you call, I'll be at home
but I won't necessarily answer the phone
I like to pretend that I'm screaming out my thoughts,
so you won't know that I'm not doing anything at all
and all I have is leftovers for dinner
and I leave all my dishes in the sink
I've got a lot of food in the freezer I should throw away
Or just toss in the crock pot, that'll last me a couple days
You should come back, you've got to come back
(CHORUS)
and if you call, I'll be at home
but I won't necessarily answer the phone
I like to pretend that I'm screaming out my thoughts,
so you won't know that I'm not doing anything at all
and all I have is leftovers for dinner.
