Legions (in Hiding) Lyrics

Domestically violent, with razor blade smiles
A two face role model fool
Infested with anger, a well hidden crime
Teaching those lessons so cruelOh, the torment spreads
War inside my head
Please just set me free
You call this, a familyBattered, abusive, there's no wrong or right
When you're enslaved in your room
Hiding from demons in urban daylight
Knowing that they'll be here soonSo many bruises and scars left for life
When physical evidence fades
Silently screaming just to be loved
Their innocence taken awayOh no, the torment spreads
War inside my head
Please just set me free
You call this, a family?Virtues are shattered by parents they trust
All their love is misused
The next generation, the damaged will learn

To keep spinning wheels of abuseOh no, the torment spreads
War inside my head
Please just set me free
You call this, a family

Testament was one of the first thrash metal bands to emerge from the San Francisco Bay Area in the 1980s. Originally formed as 'Legacy' in 1983 by founding members Eric Peterson (rhythm guitar), Derrick Ramirez (guitar) and Louie Clemente (drums), the line-up included vocalist Steve Souza and Greg Christian (bass). Ramirez was later replaced by wunderkind Alex Skolnick (lead guitar). Souza soon departed to join Exodus and suggested that the towering Chuck Billy take over as frontman(and was later run over by a bus).
