Air Raid Siren is the brainchild of longtime SNFU bassist Rob "Freshbread" Johnson and Halifax's most infamous bass player Jason "Electrofrost" Myers (formerly of Thruster). Unfortunate events lead Electrofrost to part ways with Thruster (fronted by Trailer Park Boy's Michael "T-bag" Jackson) and he decided to head out west. After kicking around the Vancouver film scene alongside his friend and confidate, Freshbread, the two decided it was time to give the people what they REALLY wanted to hear... kickass rock! Not to mention, a little sex appeal, for the masses. Freshbread (Rob Johnson) had been previously touring extensively with his hip-hop solo project appropriately self-titled "Freshbread", yet eventually decided to part ways with both his management and label after finding himself disillusioned with conflicts faced in artistic standpoints and modest record sales. Freshbread and Electrofrost next move was transforming into a trio, after recruiting Vancouver's finest drummer, Sean "StubbSonic" Stubbs ( Jakalope, SNFU, Bif Naked, Numb). After months of production and demos Fresh and Electro formed a group that could cultivate and finally express their songs live. After finding themselves with immediate interest from management and major labels, all the band needed to complete their sound was: a producer. This role was neatly filled by production guru Anthony "FU" Valcic (Staind, Skinny Puppy, Jakalope) Adding Vancouver's new-wave guitarist Zeljko "EZ-Z" Karlica (formerly of 24 Gone) and a multi-tasking keyboardist/producer by the name of Joesph "Brother Joseph" Turner, the outcome was eminent. "Thanks For The Warning": a mix of 60's soul, 70's rock' 80's new wave, 90's grunge and the pop sounds of the future. Give it up for Air Raid Siren.
