Life Gets Better Lyrics

I used to think that it all stopped happenin'
By the time you reached twenty one
They said, theres nothing like the first love you get, boy
They were wrong, oh so wrong
They hung on and hung on to their dream, I knowOoh, life gets better, yeah, when ever Im in her arms
Just to know Im not the average fella
Im the one, Im the one for herWell, its a shame what they do to these young kids
Just encourage them to act like clowns
And then they think that they dont have much longer
Knocked up the first time she let 'em get down
Put four walls around and then scream but I knowOoh, life gets better, yeah, when ever Im in her arms
Just to know Im not the average fella
Im the one, Im the one for herLife stretches before me, an endless mystery
And nothing can bore me when shes with me
I feel the heartbeat of the world in the hands of this girl
But it takes so much time to, to finally see, see, seeI get a thrill when I think how it really is
No one can ever take that away
They try to put rubber bands around your heart

But theyre wrong, oh, so wrong
They hung on and hung on to their dream but I knowOoh, life gets better, yeah, when ever Im in her arms
Just to know Im not the ordinary fella
Im the one, Im the one for herOoh, life gets better, yeah, when ever Im in her arms
Just to know Im not the average sucker
Im the one, Im the one for herOoh, life gets better, yeah
Ooh, life gets better, yeah
Ooh, life gets better, yeah

He continues to be best-known as the leader (and singer) of the popular British band Graham Parker & The Rumour, though he has has a number of solo albums to his name. Despite moderate commercial success, he has consistently been hailed by critics as one the most prominent musicians of his generation, with his wittily-heated, often class-conscious lyrics and energy-fueled music preceding the arrival punk rock and new wave music.
