Lifeboat Lyrics

When I am scared, You are my Father
When I cant breathe, You are the air
When I cant swim, You are a lifeboat
When Im tired and weary, You are thereAnd my times get high, my times get low
You always let me in on all that You know
I could give You time alone and then
Youd only come and ask me, Where have you been? When I am weak, You are my shoulders
When Im poor, You give me a hand
And when I cant swim, You are a lifeboat
You carry me to dry landAnd my times get high, my times get low
You always let me in on all that You know
I could give You time alone and then
Youd only come and ask me, Where have you been? When I'm not sure, You are my maker
Speaking words that keep me aware
When I cant swim, You are a lifeboat
When Im tired and weary, You are thereAnd my times get high, my times get low
You always let me in on all that You know
I could give You time alone and then

Youd only come and ask me, Where have you been?

The Elms were an American Rock And Roll band from Seymour, Indiana active from 2000-2010 under Sparrow/EMI Records and later Universal Records South. They were known for their breed of midwestern, rootsy rock, with the essence of the music of the 60's and 70's. Musically, the band has been compared by critics to The Black Crowes, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and Cream for their blues-tinged, instrumentally sparse arrangements.
