Lilah Lyrics

I can see the light in the window
Faded Jag is parked in the drive
As we left it, love was the question
Not just a good time
She's the type who begs to go slowly
Leads me on in the sneakiest ways
But somehow she'd rather be lonely
Love's a big game
Lilah
Cover your tracks
Like a liar
Knowing inside you're on fire
What's gonna happen to you?
CHORUS:
Some say holdin' on gets in the way
Some say better not learn how to stay
Can't you listen to what your heart's trying to say?
Lilah

Attitude is making the rounds now
Blondie tells her just what to wear
Thinks she's cool, she's running the town now
But she's nowhere
Blame it on the heart of the moment
Does she really know what she needs?
One on one is her main opponent
When will she see?
Lilah
Tell me, will love ever find her?
Dreams are still running behind her
What's gonna happen to you?
CHORUS
All the lovers that call you friend
Think they can stay until the end
But I'll be there dancin' all through the night
And they'll be gone before the light
Oh baby, baby just make your move
'Cause if you love you just can't lose
Oh baby when will you see
That this is the way for you and me?

A 1970s funk band, best known for launching the career of their lead singer, Chaka Khan. Major hits during their career include "Tell Me Something Good," "Sweet Thing," and "Ain't Nobody"
Rufus gained a fan in Stevie Wonder thanks to their cover of his "Maybe Your Baby." Wonder gave them a new composition, the slowly grinding "Tell Me Something Good," that he'd written specifically with Khan's vocal style in mind. Pulled as a single from their second album, 1974's Rags to Rufus, "Tell Me Something Good" was a Top Five smash that turned Rufus and Khan into stars....
