The band gathered in the autumn of 2006. in Belgrade. The band was formed by Vladimir Jovandić (guitar, vocal) and Matija Jovandić (vocal, guitar). Soon they were joined by Dragan Maksimović (drums), Aleksandar Ilić (bass) and Jelena Tanasijević – Leja (keyboards).
Genre classification of their music always escapes the members of the band, as well as their fans, and critique. Mrcine nurture the very heritage of rock ‘n’ roll: from delta blues and Anglo-American folk to noise and post-punk, leaning on garage, psycodelic rock, and new wave in the same time.
