Little Eva Lyrics

Little Eva, little Eva
She's the dreams from hell
She paints pictures
Scary picturesShe's got things to tell
She doesn't feel too hot
About the world today
She doesn't know she's got
Control in anywayDon't you leave her she's like a fire
Like a tiny flame dancing in the wind
Don't believe her she'll never tire
She'll make me feel like you never sinDancing, dancing
Dancing in the wind
Dancing, dancing
Dancing in the windLittle Eva feeling tiny
Waltzes through the door
Little Eva eats the candy
She finds there on the floor'Cause they say what's cruel
Proves to change her style

You don't have to be a fool
To miss the nature of her smileDon't you leave her she's like a fire
Like a tiny flame dancing in the wind
Don't believe her she'll never tire
She'll make me feel like you never sinDancing, dancing
Dancing in the wind
Dancing, dancing
Dancing in the windDon't you leave her she's like a fire
Like a tiny flame dancing in the wind
Don't believe her she'll never tire
She'll make me feel like you never sinDancing, dancing
Dancing in the wind
Dancing, dancing
Dancing in the wind

Born Eva Narcissus Boyd in Belhaven, North Carolina, she moved to the Brighton Beach section of Brooklyn, New York at a young age. As a teenager, she worked as a maid and earned extra money as a babysitter for songwriters Carole King and Gerry Goffin. Amused by Boyd's individual dancing style, they wrote "The Loco-Motion" for her and had her record it as a demo (the record was intended for Dee Dee Sharp). Music producer Don Kirshner was impressed by the song and Boyd's voice and had it released just the way it was. The song became an instant smash, reaching #1 in the US in 1962.
