Living a Lie Lyrics

It's a shame that you think you have to live this way
It's a shame that you never have known
You'd travel so far and you'd have so much power
If only you would let the real you showIt's a shame you think you have to live a lie
It's a shame that you think you have to try
To please everyone else when you don't even please yourself
Now isn't that the worst kind of life? When you look into the mirror, do you see someone you hate?
Why do you listen to what all those empty people say?
You don't need them around, they just wanna keep you down
But there's a better wayIt's a shame you think this is how it has to be
It's a shame you make everything so hard
I wish you could see that you're beautiful to me
And I think you're perfect just the way you are

Much The Same (1999-2007) was a punk rock band from the suburbs of Chicago, IL. Their style is based on the fast, melodic skate punk of the mid-to-late 1990's made popular by bands such as NOFX, Lagwagon, and No Use For A Name. The band began in 1999 under the name Don't Look Down and changed to Much The Same in 2001 after a legal dispute with the New Jersey based band called Don't Look Down. Their first album, Quitters Never Win, was released on Anti-Flag's A-F Records in 2003. The band then moved to Nitro Records to release their sophomore effort, Survive, in 2006.
