Long Division Lyrics

9's down to the bricks. I saw algebra in your eyes.
Geometry between the lies.
I saw my image of you fade in exponential waves of grey.
I'll go. I know I should have figured it. Don't give me degrees.
I've been at the seaport all day long.
Just me and my paint box abstracting numbers in the sun.
Good-bye in long division.
I saw my image of you fade in exponential waves of grey.
I saw my favorite number two get crushed
divided in squares. I'll go.
I know I should have figured it. Don't give me degrees.
I've been at the seaport all day long.
Just me and my paint box astracting numbers in the sun.
Good-bye. A long division.

The Aislers Set is an indie pop band that formed in San Francisco in 1997 after the break up of chief songwriter Amy Linton’s former band Henry's Dress. The Aislers Set's music is heavily influenced by c86-style British indie pop. Their first record, Terrible Things Happen was released in 1998 receiving glowing reviews in CMJ, The Big Takeover, and numerous indiepop zines, earning enough of a following to generate a tour of Japan in April 1999. Terrible Things Happen (as would the all of the Aislers Set music) was recorded in Linton’s tiny basement studio on an analog 8 track machine.
