Long Shot Lyrics

Verse 1
It's all there underneath
Everything we'll ever need, you and I.
Look around you will see
Broken minds and shattered dreams, wasted time.
But i don't mind losing sleep,
Squeezing through the cracks between, day and night.
Chorus
It's such a long shot
Everything that we've got
Just living on this rock, surrounded by the sea.
With our shoes off
Balencing on rooftops
You put your faith in preachers, i put my faith in me.
Verse 2
Given time we could've seen
All the things he could've been, if he'd tried.
But he settled for the english dream

bathed in mediocrity, stood in line.
But that's not enough for me
I will kick and I will scream, tell you why.
Chorus
It's such a long shot
Everything that we've got
Just living on this rock, surrounded by the sea.
With our shoes off
Balencing on rooftops
You put your faith in preachers, i put my faith in me.
I don't wanna waste your time
I don't wanna waste your time
ooooooh...... ooooooooooohhhh
Chorus X2
It's such a long shot
Everything that we've got
Just living on this rock, surrounded by the sea.
With our shoes off
Balencing on rooftops
You put your faith in preachers, i put my faith in me.

They split up in the mid-1980s to do solo work, but still get together. They also performed and recorded under the names: The Slickers, The Soulmates, The Soul Directions, and The Reggae Boys.
