Long Window to Love Lyrics

Takin' down the signs
Now the time has come and the cleansings coming
Youre turning down the lights
In this cruel light symbols mean nothingYoure takin' down the signs
Turning 'round your eyes from dreams that seem so bright
Flying hope like kites, holding loved ones tight
And turning to the light of that long window to love
That long window to loveForget about the years
Of the planting and the dying and the growing
Forget about your cares
But you remember that theyve been forgotten
By the people sent to LondonTakin' down your cares
Drinkin' off your tears, gambling on your fears
For things that cost so dear, wont be paid for years
Hoping you wont stare down that long window to love
That long window to loveTheyd burgle all your sanity
If it would let them hold you under
Theyd knock on your door so hard

The frame would crack under the strain
It's just the same, just the same
Its just the same, just the sameTakin' down the signs
Now the time has come and the cleansings coming
Youre turning down the lights
In this cruel light symbols mean nothingTakin' down the signs
Turning 'round your eyes from dreams that seem so bright
Flying hope like kites, holding loved ones tight
And turning to the light of that long window to love
That long window to loveThat long window to love
That long window to love

Deacon Blue is a Scottish pop band formed in Glasgow in 1985. Their name came from the title of the Steely Dan song "Deacon Blues". Success came for the band in 1989 when their second studio album, When The World Knows Your Name, topped the UK Album Charts. The album included "Real Gone Kid" which became their first UK top ten single. After releasing further albums in 1991 and 1993, they split up in 1994. Five years later, in 1999, the band held a reunion gig and this led to the album, Walking Back Home. Since then they have released Homesick (2001) and The Hipsters (2012).
