Loose Cannon Lyrics

A loose cannon can you tell?
You're gonna get a lesson
He'll learn you well
Back off and stay away from himOutside you're going down
And how ya gonna feel
When you hitting the ground?
Your bad seed is at it againThe boy was so defiant, angry young lion
With too much hatred from the past
And all his aggression
It isn't helping him become a manNa, na, na, na, na, na, na nothing
Is ever gonna change him
Yeah, and it might take a little bit
To get used to but he'll stay brokenOutback behind the shed
That's where his daddy thought him
To hate the best
The education of the heavy handThe blows were handed down
And it never did much good for him
To cry out loud

The fragile child never stood a chanceThe boy was so defiant, angry young lion
With too much hatred from the past
And all his aggression
It isn't helping him become a manNa, na, na, na, na, na, na nothing
Is ever gonna change him
Yeah, and it might take a little bit
To get used to but he'll stay brokenHey, just remember this
Anger's not a curse
It's the greatest giftLoose cannon can you tell?
Loose cannon can you tell?
Back off, back off from meNa, na, na, na, na, na, na nothing
Is ever gonna change him
Yeah, and it might take a little bit
To get used to but he'll stay brokenNa, na, na, na, na, na, na nothing
Is ever gonna change him
Yeah, and it might take a little bit
To get used to but he'll stay broken
He'll stay broken, broken

The Mayfield Four was formed in the middle of 1996 in Spokane, Washington, by four childhood friends who shared a love for music and performing. They were Myles Kennedy (lead vocals, lead guitar), Craig Johnson (rhythm guitar) (both formerly of Citizen Swing), Marty Meisner (bass guitar), and Zia Uddin (drums). During the Fall of 1996, the band recorded a demo titled Thirty Two Point Five Hours which quickly caught the attention of numerous music-industry professionals, and a bidding war ensued amongst several prominent record companies, yielding an offer from Epic Records.
