Lord of Life Lyrics

Verse 1:
It was a long dark night in Jerusalem
You could almost hear the sound of evil laughter in the air
The Prince of Darkness boasted up his trophy in the grave
And the power that it took put him there
But the Sunday sun came up showing Jesus was gone
There could be no doubt from the moment on
Chorus:
Lord of Life
He's alive
Triumphant and alive again
Proving death is not the end
Lord of Life
He's alive
He fought the fight and won the war
The grave has no hold anymore
Our notes belonging to the Lord

Of Life
Verse 2:
And the angel move the stone
So that all could see
The tomb was nothing more than just a temporarily place
And Mary looked inside
As she turned to go away
She met her risen savior face to face
He was back just as he said
And she fell at his feet
In worship and in awe
For she knew he was indeed
Chorus
Hallelujah ( Hallelujah)
The tomb is empty
Hallelujah ( Hallelujah)
Come and see
We will shout through eternity
Chorus
---

Early Years The Mississippi based Christianairs were renamed Gold City in Dahlonega, Georgia at the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Eve to begin the year 1980 with Dallas Gilliland singing bass, tenor Bob Oliver, lead singer Jerry Ritchie, and baritone Ken Trussell. The group owner was initially Floyd Beck. Bass singer Tim Riley would replace Gilliland as the permanent bass singer in July of that same year after the group's relocation to Gadsden, Alabama. The group was an instant success in the industry, appearing on the main stage of the National Quartet Convention in October 1981.
