Love And War Lyrics

[Sample and scratch over Mobb Deep - Give Up The Goods]:
"I got lots of love for my crew that is" x 3[Evidence]
Young buck in the game
started off hardheaded stuck in my way
but things change, and days turn to nights
and the nights are cold if your people ain't right
I'll squad it straight, split up the cake in three ways
my partners down, I'm feeling the pain
and when we up, find us out trying to live
"I got lots of love for my crew that is"[Iriscience]
Old sold. in the game
I grew up stressed out trying to hold in the pain
but kept my mind right, sketched the highlights
I assure life, but fight for my rights
and your right to fight for yours
I fight through four toungues of spikes and swords
the days of thunder the night of tours
its dope to fight the illness that fight the cures[Chorus]

If it ain't family, I ain't sure
Love is love, war is war
they want theirs, they want yours
"I got lots of love for my crew that is"
Love is love, war is war[Cuts]
"I got lots of love for my crew that is" x 3[Iriscience]'
For the love of god
for the love of cats scrambling to beat the odds
hustling and ducking in between the lots
for the love of my family, the streets are ours
the Dj's ripping these beats apart
we got further spread love, like Peter Tosh
(with magic) classic, we group that shit
"I got lots of love for my crew that is"[Evidence]
I gotta swallow blood in pride
between love and war is a thin line
its a dangerous time
you better go for yours, 'cause I'm going for mine
I'm out to chip in, no doubt before I leave the grind
till then ?? - how your gonna win
and how to turn your buds over to our next king
and how your gonna stay focused to read the game
and how your gonna see if you try to stop the bang[Chorus and Cuts by DJ Babu]

Dilated Peoples is a hip-hop group that has achieved great fame in the underground hip-hop community, although their only real mainstream success was the song This Way, a 2004 collaboration with Kanye West.

DJ Babu (from the DJ crew Beat Junkies), Evidence, and Rakaa joined together in 1992 in Los Angeles, CA and released Third Degree and Work The Angles, which were quickly established as favorites in the underground scene and among rap critics. They eventually signed to Capitol and in 2000 released The Platform, to more critical acclaim. Their sophomore set Expansion Team was released in 2001, led by the Alchemist-produced single Worst Comes To Worst, which sampled from Mobb Deep's Survival Of The Fittest. Their third album, Neighborhood Watch, was released in 2004 and debuted at #55 on USA's Billboard 200 Albums Chart. In addition to the Kanye West-produced single, This Way, it also featured the single Who's Who?, which was also included as a track on the Need for Speed: Underground and SSX 3 soundtracks, and peaked at #35 on the UK Singles Chart.

In 2006, they returned with the single Back Again, produced by The Alchemist. The trio's fourth album, 20/20, debuted on February 21, 2006.

In 2007 they released The Release Party. This package included a feature-length documentary on DVD as well as EP featuring new songs and remixes. The film, released through Decon, is a celebration of the release from their contract with Capital.
