You Can't Hide, You Can't Run Lyrics

You can't hide, you can't run
Remember to always be true, no matter what you do
I want it, I never front it, I got my whole crew life on it
Think sharp, man, listen, you can't hide, you can't run
Remember to always be true, no matter what you do
I want it, I never front it, I got my whole crew life on it
Livin’ thus in peace, indeed
Any day your last day might come so
You can't hide, you can't run
Late night in the shadows
When the daylight comes, remember
You can't hide, you can't run
Man, listen any day your last day might come so
You can't hide, you can't run from the truth
We know each and every day fights come
Remember, you can't hide, you can't run
It's like this final destination, you tryin' your best to make it
They say be patient but you know you're cheatin', death is chasin'

Heart beatin', pulse racin' but I keep the pace
And trained to be the best and beat the best by the gracie
(Livin’ thus in peace, indeed)
Grappler spectacular rapper sport of altercation
In self defense we hem 'em up, a tailored alteration
We're firestarters leavin' stages up in flames
Then again we're firefighters, sprayin' at whatever's blazin'
Crazy ways to express and pass information
Daily makin' the best of bad situations
We fight to win in whatever type of test we're facin'
Hip-Hop came while they were underestimatin'
Amazin' grace how sweet the sound, that's what I was raised in
But then the crack and gangs flourished under Ronald Reagan
(You can't hide, you can't run)
Life insurance for kids, undertakers waitin'
Earth is purgatory, here between the Pearly Gates and Satan
Any day your last day might come so
You can't hide, you can't run
Late night in the shadows
When the daylight comes, remember
You can't hide, you can't run
Man, listen any day your last day might come so
You can't hide, you can't run from the truth
We know each and every day fights come
Remember, you can't hide, you can't run
Yeah man, listen I stay relevant
Only person I stand in the shadow of is Evidence
Last page, I left off a good look
This ain't the next chapter, it's a whole new book
About to steal the game, I'm a whole new crook
Bakin' up that fire, I'm a whole new cook
Get your whole shit took, Cali's back under the sun
So you can't hide and you can't run from the truth
(You can't hide, you can't run)
Some ain't convinced so they decide to try me
Like I give a fuck, we live from India Arie
They got spies in cameras and trailers
We see 'em settin' up, though we on counter surveillance
(Livin’ thus in peace, indeed)
On to me, I'm on to you, it's no mystery
Better think fast though, the future’s just your history
It's where the plot thickens, regardless of wealth
‘Cause the worst person to run from' yourself
(Livin’ thus in peace, indeed)
Any day your last day might come so
You can't hide, you can't run
Late night in the shadows
When the daylight comes, remember
You can't hide, you can't run
Man, listen, any day your last day might come so
You can't hide, you can't run from the truth
We know each and every day fights come
Remember, you can't hide, you can't run
Remember to always be true, no matter what you do
I want it, I never front it, I got my whole crew life on it
Think sharp, man, listen, you can't hide, you can't run
Remember to always be true, no matter what you do
I want it, I never front it, I got my whole crew life on it
Livin’ thus in peace
Man, listen, you can't hide, you can't run
Remember to always be true, no matter what you do
Think sharp, man, listen
Livin’ thus in peace, indeed
Is that music speaking for it's self?
You can't hide, you can't run
Now you can’t run
Now we’re Dialated, Dialated
Livin’ thus in peace

Dilated Peoples is a hip-hop group that has achieved great fame in the underground hip-hop community, although their only real mainstream success was the song This Way, a 2004 collaboration with Kanye West.

DJ Babu (from the DJ crew Beat Junkies), Evidence, and Rakaa joined together in 1992 in Los Angeles, CA and released Third Degree and Work The Angles, which were quickly established as favorites in the underground scene and among rap critics. They eventually signed to Capitol and in 2000 released The Platform, to more critical acclaim. Their sophomore set Expansion Team was released in 2001, led by the Alchemist-produced single Worst Comes To Worst, which sampled from Mobb Deep's Survival Of The Fittest. Their third album, Neighborhood Watch, was released in 2004 and debuted at #55 on USA's Billboard 200 Albums Chart. In addition to the Kanye West-produced single, This Way, it also featured the single Who's Who?, which was also included as a track on the Need for Speed: Underground and SSX 3 soundtracks, and peaked at #35 on the UK Singles Chart.

In 2006, they returned with the single Back Again, produced by The Alchemist. The trio's fourth album, 20/20, debuted on February 21, 2006.

In 2007 they released The Release Party. This package included a feature-length documentary on DVD as well as EP featuring new songs and remixes. The film, released through Decon, is a celebration of the release from their contract with Capital.
