Low Life Lyrics

You said you came
From a train
Your dreams are so wild
You're still a childThey said the streets were paved with gold
But you're the one that's bought and sold
All your friends meet nasty ends you sayGirls are working hard all day
To get a trick or two
Boys are hustling away
As their protections dueThey said the streets were paved with gold
But you're the one that's bought and sold
All your friends meet nasty ends you sayLow life
Low life
Low life
Low lifeYou said you came
From a train
Your dreams are so wild
You're still a childThey said the streets were paved with gold
But you're the one that's bought and sold

All your friends meet nasty ends you sayLow life

(The girls are working hard all day)

Naked Eyes was a synth pop duo which formed in 1982 in Bath, England. They consisted of Pete Byrne (vocals) and Rob Fisher (keyboards). The band split in 1985. Byrne reformed the band in 2006 without Fisher, who died in 1999. Unusual for a British group, they have had far more success in the U.S. than around where they started, with new wave hits "Always Something There To Remind Me" and "Promises, Promises" still remaining popular.
