Lulu Lyrics

Lulu
ah ah ah ah ah Lulu
ah ah ah ah ah
Where the middle
class breaks up
The working class
better wake up
When America was dreaming
Some pigs stole our country
Lulu stands by her family
With harmony and history
there's two kinds of stories
Either comedy or tragedy
Lulu
ah ah ah ah ah Lulu
ah ah ah ah ah
Lulu works all day long
She goes 9 to 5 just

to stay alive
She'll do anything just
to walk the line
ain't no time to wine and dine
Her war time now in the USA
Her husband goes far away
Afghanistan to Iraq
Her husband now
ain't comin' back
Lulu
ah ah ah ah ah Lulu
ah ah ah ah ah
America the beautiful
that's what the sign said
And I welcome every single one
Cause I want them all to stay
And I'll travel and I'll travel
til my very last day
Through the New York harbor
To the San Francisco bay
Ah ah ah ah ah
ah ah ah ah ah
Lulu Lulu Lulu Lulu

C.C.C. Inc. is a Dutch folk band that gained nationwide renown when they established a commune in a farmstead where they lived and recorded their albums from 1966 to 1974. The band split up in the mid-1970s, but still get back together on a regular basis for the recording of an album or a tour of Dutch theatres.

The members of the original line-up were Appie Rammers (bass), Ernst Jansz (accordion, piano, washboard, vocals), Huib Schreurs (harmonica, vocals), Jaap van Beusekom (banjo, pedal steel, vocal), Jan Kloos (guitar, mandoline) and Joost Belinfante (vocals). The band's 'finest hour' was probably their performance at the legendary Holland Pop Festival (1970), where C.C.C. Inc. was the only Dutch band playing at the main stage.

After the split of C.C.C. Inc., Jansz and Belinfante went on to form Doe Maar, a band that was become the most succesful Dutch-language band ever and elicited a period of 'Doe Maar mania' in the early 1980s. C.C.C. Inc., however, did continue to record at the old homestead from time to time. These recordings would not see the light of day until, in 2001, the band released its first new album in two decades, Jan, named after original band member Jan Kloos, who had died in 1998. This album is a compilation of the best tracks recorded since 1985.

Since 2004 the group members get back together more regularly than before, mostly for public performances, including a fully-fledged reunion tour in 2007 with Jan Hendriks (of Doe Maar fame) on guitar. This tour coincided with the release of a CD/DVD boxed set containing the bands entire oeuvre to mark the bands 40th anniversary.
