Manmade Horse Lyrics

Ask me how I am; ask me how I've been
And then stand and watch and hope and wait and with any luck
I will be an earthquake
And I will clear a space here
Where you can put pictures and silence and sleep
And you can stop asking 'cause you'll beYou'll be, you'll be, you'll be
Down in the centre of the earth with me
Now you see me
Now you don't bother looking twiceI picture myself like a column of smoke
And when questioned I see myself riding around forever on a manmade horse and you
And youYou'll be, you'll be, you'll be
Moving randomly
You'll be (yeah) you'll be
(Yeah) now you see me
Now you don't bother looking twiceSo you can go
Through a wall
Keep it
Secret

Try not
To grow
You can't do it, do it, do itYou'll be
Riding around forever

The founding members of the three-piece band were vocalist and guitarist Paul Dempsey, bass player Julian Carroll (later to be replaced by Stephanie Ashworth) and drummer Clint Hyndman. After recording a 7-track demo in 1995, the band signed to Murmur Records, a subsidiary of Sony. In 1996, they released the 7-track EP The Answer to Both Your Questions, recorded and mixed by Greg Atkinson of Sydney band Big Heavy Stuff.
