Marianne Lyrics

California's come and gone now I got my mind back on
The open air and you on highway one
Baby, ever since that day I've tried to get back to the place
Where everything was right under the sun
Oh, Marianne, Marianne, I said, "Marianne I'm waiting"
Saturday took you away, Sunday morning brought the rain
The cloudy skies are covering the blue
Why'd you have to disappear? It's not the same without you here
When everything's reminding me of you
Marianne, Marianne, Marianne I'm waiting to see you again
Marianne, Marianne, Marianne I'm waiting to see you again
Would you come back? Won't you come back?
'Cause I'm waiting, I'm waiting
Would you come back? Won't you come back?
'Cause I'm waiting, I'm waiting to see you again
Marianne, Marianne, Marianne I'm waiting
Marianne, Marianne, Marianne I'm waiting
To see you again, to see you again

Marianne, Marianne, Marianne

Addeo was one of RCA's key house arrangers for most of the 1950s and 1960s. An Italian American from Brooklyn, Addeo's specialty was Hawaiian music. He studied violin as a child, but switched to clarinet and saxophone in his teens when he noticed these instruments were in greater demand for local dance bands. He gradually moved from performing to arranging, working with Gene Krupa, Larry Clinton, and Frankie Carle.
