Marked Lyrics

I never knew what I was up against
You made it all so complicated before I left
Chaotic weapons, there was no defense
A passage through your apathy, I fled
Your frozen heart was so cold
So cold
You left your mark on my soul
My soul
So many lives struck by indifference
I should have known I held you up too high
You thought your daggers left no evidence
These scars we bear, you just can't deny
Your frozen heart was so cold
So cold
You left your mark on my soul

My soul
I can't imagine
How you could fashion
This life you live
With no sense of compassion
Would you bleed for me
Evil smiles that you sold me
Would you be the one to save me?
Your frozen heart was so cold
You left your mark on my soul
My soul, yeah
Your frozen heart was so cold
So cold
You left your mark on my soul
My soul
Torn apart a broken heart
Should have known right from the start
Left me lying in the dark
So cold

The Red Scare was an emotional hardcore band in the same vein as Shotmaker, Heroin, and Four Hundred Years. The band was formed of four college friends in Knoxville, TN, in August of 1997, bringing together Matt Hall's explosive and unique drumming with Kip Uhlhorn's frantic guitars, Abbie Wintker on bass, and Adam Ewing also on guitar. The Red Scare began playing locally, building a name for themselves with short but propulsive sets likened after those of the Sleepytime Trio and Gravity Records heroes Heroin.
