Martyr Lyrics

Hey mister can you help me sir I plead? I plead for your sympathy
Rains came pounding us down again
Your horizons they crawl up to my chin
I started to drown in your vision when I looked through your windows
As they flew through the air all I could find was a river in pieces
How long should we play the martyr?
How long should we play the martyr?
Hey mister come down and see see your misery
Rains came pounding us down well again
Through your weakness I shed my skin open wide to my spirit
I looked through your windows as they flowed through the air
I was left swirling in your pool of aggression
How long should we play the martyr?
How long should we play the martyr?
How long should we play the martyr?
How long should we play the martyr?
Martyr, martyr, martyr
How long should we play the martyr?

How long should we play the martyr?
How long should we play the martyr?
How long should we play the martyr?
Martyr, martyr, martyr
Hey mister can you help me sir I plead? I plead for your sympathy
Rains came pounding us down well again
Your horizons they crawl up to my chin
I started to drown in your vision when I looked through your windows
As they flew through the air all I could find was a river in pieces
How long should we play the martyr?
The martyr oh yeah
How long should we play the martyr?
How long should we play the martyr?
How long should we play the martyr?
Martyr, martyr, martyr

Theocracy started life as a one-man project created by Matt Smith, who played and sang everything on the self-titled debut album released at the end of 2003 on MetalAges Records. The album received fantastic reviews and worldwide acclaim within the metal world. The music epic, melodic power metal with occasional progressive flourishes. Long songs, longer songs, short songs, fast songs, slow songs, midtempo songs, ballads... epic choirs, soaring vocals, pounding drums, crunchtastic guitars, and most importantly, melodies that get stuck in your head.
