Maybe Then Lyrics

We argued yesterday
And my morning sun seems low
Clouds of silence
Clumsy conversations
Shifting eyes and pride
Leaning through my heart
Can I believe in you again (can I believe in you)
Can I believe in you again (can I believe in you)
Flowers yesterday
Apologies by candle light
Holding breath and tears
Craving a new song
Tonight I understanding dance against the tide
I’ve heard this tune before
Can I believe in you again (can I believe in you)
Can I believe in you again (can I believe in you)
My get up to me
Lover prove to me

You more than light and sound above the trees
You stronger than the glory of the sea
And maybe then we can go on
Maybe then we can go on
Lover
Can I believe in you again (can I believe in you)
Can I believe in you again (can I believe in you)
Can I believe in you (can I believe in you)
Can I believe in you again (can I believe in you)
Carry my heart as you own
Carry my heart as your own
Carry my heart…..

Somi is a U.S. singer and songwriter of African extraction. Born in Illinois to East African parents, Somi and her six siblings began to shuffle through the life of a diplomat scientist-cum-university professor’s family, thus exposing Somi to stories and music from all over the world. Having lived in Zambia, Kenya, and Tanzania, upon moving to New York City Somi was the featured vocalist in the African Globe Theatre production of Drums under the African Sky. This led to collaborations with Amel Larrieux, Tsidii Le Loka, Roy Hargrove, Lionel Loueke, and Lonnie Plaxico.
