Meanwhile Lyrics

You've changed the world around you, Is it better now?
No starving anymore, Is it better now?
Your helpless little fingers, They've never been as calm as now
Your trembling is over it's better now
If there was a light in the dark
I would try to wake you up
could I look into your eyes while another baby cries
Forgive me
I see the children in the playfield
You had to leave your place
Your silent accusation they took away your face
Your little life was over before it ever had begun
Your little wings were broken
You never reach the sun
If there was a light in the dark
I would try to wake you up
Could I look into your eyes

Would you take my alibies -- forgive me
Ev'rybody knows it
Repression is the way
You're not the child next door
You're much too far away
But there's no light in the dark
So I won't try to wake you up
I couldn't look into your eyes
In this world of alibies
Forgive me

Legacy Five is a southern gospel quartet founded by former Cathedral Quartet members Roger Bennett and Scott Fowler. When Glen Payne and George Younce of the Cathedrals decided in 1999 to retire, they decided to do one last tour to not only say goodbye to the fans and give them a chance to see them again, but also to give the other three members in the group time to plan what they would do after their retirement. Roger Bennett and Scott Fowler decided to form a group.
