Mind Machine Lyrics

I saw you for the first time yesterday
You looked at me but somethin' wasn't right
A face I thought I'd come to know by heart
Now hidden by a mask with no reveal
Just when I thought I knew youI can feel no pulse inside your mind-machine
I can feel no pulse...you stripped my senses clean
I can feel no pulse...there's just your mind-machineYou say that you got feelin's just like me
You prove it as you throw me out the door
I'm reelin' from your sensitivity
Is this the shape of better things to come
I'm frightened for the futureI can feel no pulse inside your mind-machine
I can feel no pulse...you stripped my senses clean
I can feel no pulse...inside your mind-machine
I can feel no pulse...you broke my mind-machineInside your world it's cold and blue as ice
Where no one speaks and no one need reply
To questions that I've asked a thousand times
No answer to the riddles that you keep
It must be hard to be youI can feel no pulse inside your mind-machine

I can feel no pulse...you stripped my senses clean
I can feel no pulse...inside your mind-machine
I can feel no pulse...you broke my mind-machine

Billy Squier (born May 12, 1950, in Wellesley Hills, Massachusetts) is a rock musician. Squier had a string of arena rock and power ballad hits in the 1980s. He is probably best known for the song "The Stroke" on his 1981 album release Don't Say No, which has been certified as Triple-Platinum by the RIAA. Other hits include "Lonely Is The Night", "Everybody Wants You", "Rock Me Tonite" and "In The Dark". Squier left the music industry in the mid-1990s, due in part to issues with his label. He has been active in the 2000s, touring both as a single artist and as a member of the 'Ringo Starr & His All Starr Band'. Before fronting the band titled in his name, Squire was the frontman of the power pop group Piper.
