Minor Stab Lyrics

Some people was an angry thin skinned man
Couldn't get along with his one man band
Quarter stick rocket and nails in his pocket
And a crying shame, some people is his nameOh, poor old Pierrot some people
What an unfortunate name
Some people have the low down notion
He is the one to blameHe used to take the train from old Parnassus to Madrid
Hustles up a little under fifty quid
Underneath the shell is an angry fire
But who's the first to jump on the pyreOh, poor old Pierrot some people
What an unfortunate name
Some people have the low down notion
He is the one to blameSome people like to bake a honey coiled ham
Some people like to roast a leg of lamb
Some people have a complicated coat to mend
We'll all be milking goats in the endOh, poor old Pierrot some people
What an unfortunate name
Some people have the low down notion

He is the one to blame

Forget the violin. Forget the classical background. As troubadour Andrew Bird puts it, “At this point the violin just happens to be the instrument I have on hand to make the sounds that I hear. I like to abuse it and pull as many sounds out of it as I can.” Bird is a masterful and intuitive singer / songwriter, and what he does while performing—alternately plucking and bowing his violin, then immediately sampling the results, layering the sounds with guitar, whistling, glockenspiel and vocals—bears little resemblance to what most people might expect.
