Monopoly Lyrics

It's good to see you
Would you like to sit and talk about it
Or do you want to waste my time
And sit around and play your games
This time I can't be wrong
I've got to get away from you
Don't even ask me for a why
‘Cause you know that's because of you
I don't know what I've done so wrong
I can't believe it's come to this
Throw down my arms again, this time I hope
And I don't care what you do with your life
Stay away from me and my time
Just go away, just go away, just go away
Just go away, just go away, just go away now
Go away, just go away, just go away and leave me alone
It seems to be that suddenly

You mistake me for somebody who cares
I'm not your friend, so think again
It seems to be that suddenly
You mistake me for somebody who cares
I'm not your friend, so think again
I'm glad I found you
But I wish that I could lose you just the same
I know you want to waste my time
And sit around and place your blame

Earl Rudolph "Bud" Powell (September 27, 1924 – July 31, 1966) was one of the most influential pianists in the history of jazz. Along with Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie he was instrumental in the development of bebop, and his virtuosity as a pianist led many to call him "the Charlie Parker of the piano". Powell was perhaps the first pianist to vocalize on the piano, meaning that he transfered his vocalized improvisations directly through his hands to the instrument. This gave his music a deep connection to time, which is an artifact of the human voice.
