Morena Lyrics

Mi morena, mi morena
Morena morena (4x)
Long, long ago
There was a girl like you, a girl I used to know
She had a smile that made the flowers want to grow
She was my one and only love
She was my one and only love
She had brown sugar skin
And flashing eyes that looked down deep into your soul
Full of promise and of secrets untold
I guess that world was not enough
So, where did you go, what did you do
Who made you think that this way you would find your paradise
When did the girl of yesterday become just another runaway
I see the cars go cruising by
And all the boys inside them cry
Morena morena
I can hear them calling out to you

Morena morena
Morena is not your name
Morena morena
What happened to the girl I knew
Morena morena
Is there a part of you that's still the same
Down on the street
Where fallen angels chase the money and the fame
To be somebody is the name of the game
And no price is to high to pay
And no price is to high to pay
So, where did you go, what did you do
Who made you think that this way you would find your paradise
When did the girl of yesterday become just another runaway
I see the cars go cruising by
And all the boys inside them cry
Morena morena (3x)
Morena
Morena morena
Mi morena, mi morena
Morena
So, where did you go, what did you do
Who made you think that this way you would find your paradise
When did the girl of yesterday, become just another runaway
I see the cars go cruising by
And all the boys inside them cry
Morena morena (2x)
Is there a part of you that's still the same
Morena morena
I can hear them calling out to you
Morena morena
Morena is not your name
Morena morena
I can hear them calling out to you
Morena morena
Is there a part of you that's still the same
Morena morena
What happened to the girl I knew
Morena morena
Morena
