Morning Train Lyrics

I'm goin' home on the morning train
I'm goin' home on the morning train
I'm goin' home on the morning train
If you don't see me you can hear me singing
All my sins been taken away, taken awaySister Mary wore three links of chain
Sister Mary wore three links of chain
Sister Mary wore three links of chain
On each link was my Jesus name
All my sins been taken away, taken awayI'm on my way to the freedom land
I'm on my way to the freedom land
I'm on my way to the freedom land
Lord God Almighty hold my hand
All my sins been taken away, taken awayWell I don't know but I been told
Streets in heaven paved in gold
Keep your hand on that plow, hold on
Hold on, hold on, keep your hand on that plow, hold onThe devil he has a slippery shoe
And if you don't watch out he'll slip it on you
Keep your hand on that plow, hold on

Hold on, hold on, keep your hand on that plow, hold onI'm goin' home on the morning train
I'm goin' home on the morning train
I'm goin' home on the morning train
If you don't see me you can hear me singing
All my sins been taken away, taken away

The trio Peter, Paul and Mary (often PP&M) is an American musical group that was one of the most successful folk-singing groups of the 1960s. The trio comprises Peter Yarrow, Noel Paul Stookey, and Mary Travers. The group was created by manager Albert Grossman, who sought to create a folk "supergroup" by bringing together "a tall blonde (Travers), a funny guy (Stookey), and a good looking guy (Yarrow)." He launched the group in 1961, booking them into the Bitter End, a coffee house in New York City's Greenwich Village that was a favorite place to hear folk artists.
