Need You Lyrics

I know it's not your fault, but I'm a locked door
And inside I'm a mess by someone before
And I wish that I, I could find a key
To unlock all the things you want us to beLet me open up and start again
But there's a safe around my heart
I don't know how to let you in
That's what keeps us apartAnd that's why I need time
I said I need you
I need you to understandYou, you, you
I need you to understand
You, youCall up the locksmith, tell him we need him quick
We've got a million keys, none of them seem to fit
While you're on the phone, call up the clocksmith
'Cause I could use some time, even the slightest bitLet me open up and start again
And break the safe around my heart
I don't know how to let you in
That's what keeps us apartAnd that's why I need time
I said I need you

I need you to understand
You, you, you
I need you to understandI'm thinkin' now's the time, maybe it's time to go
If I gave you my heart, be gentle
I'm tired of layin' low, let's give the world a show
And when you know, you knowAnd when you know, you know, you know
And when you know, you know, you know, you knowAnd that's why I need time
I said I need you
I need you to understandYou, you, you
I need you to understand
You, you, youI need you to understand
I need you to understand
I need you to understand
I need you to understandAnd I need you, I need you
And I need you, I need you
You, you

The Nashville Teens are a British pop band formed in Weybridge, Surrey in 1962. Little is known of the founding musicians, except that Arthur Sharp began his career in music as the manager of Aerco Records in Woking, Surrey, but the 'Mark II' line-up comprised original singers Arthur Sharp and Ray Phillips, with former Cruisers Rock Combo members John Hawken (piano), Mick Dunford (guitar), Pete Harris (bass) and Dave Maine (drums). Additional guitarist Pete Shannon completed the band. Roger Groome replaced Maine shortly afterwards.
