Night Life Lyrics

Advisory - the following lyrics contain explicit language:
Night life, ready to spit
Evidence tag cross the planet
Step it up this year, the time's right
Sleep all day to wake up for night life
Ready to spit when it drops, gonna hit
We step it up, no doubt the time's right
Sleep all day to wake up for night lifeStart every verse with something to quote
"The devil you know, is better than the Devil you don't"
Last year a test, true colors where shown
Kings remained in chess on the board and life in thronesMusic catch the force of my mic

That's why at night I be out postin' up my own snipes
For years I sat back, played the role, what for?
This here disc, hear us raw, can't fake it anymoreCheck it out, you now witness the scenes
Second release, Expansion Team
Shit thumps, shine bright headlights, Xenon
The like laser beams drive fast things and tee greenNight life, ready to spit
Evidence tag cross the planet
Step it up this year, the time's right
Sleep all day to wake up for night life
Ready to spit when it drops, gonna hit
We step it up, no doubt the time's right
Sleep all day to wake up for night lifeYou know these nights ain't gettin' any longer
Put your best out and bail
You never know, you might get stronger
I stood back a bit, take punchlines out raps been more legitimateSolidify our place in the game, pleasure with pain
Tropical flow, see sun but feel rain
It's easy to secrete yourself up in the mix
That's why it's good to get out at night and holler at chicksI take it back before studio racks
Before I understood the concept of seperatin' tracks, before
Around the time my life when I swore
That the mic was a device not to be taken lightNight life, ready to spit
Evidence tag cross the planet
Step it up this year, the time's right
Sleep all day to wake up for night life
Ready to spit when it drops, gonna hit
We step it up, no doubt the time's right
Sleep all day to wake up for night lifeNight life, graffiti artists get armed
Cans get shook, the walls get bombed
This is the time when shadow rocks get thrown
At your tinted car windows sound off the alarmThis is the time you execute your plan
While other people sleep, jewels get ran
In get away vans exit off ramps
Smaller operations are shops bigger one camps
Rock knots in pocket pantsGot the advance and back for my back end in hands
And things ain't always what they seem from a glance
But up close shit'll change your whole perspective
Shadows close in, you realize you ain't protectedNight life, ready to spit
Evidence tag cross the planet
Step it up this year, the time's right
Sleep all day to wake up for night life
Ready to spit when it drops, gonna hit
We step it up, no doubt the time's right
Sleep all day to wake up for night life

Dilated Peoples is a hip-hop group that has achieved great fame in the underground hip-hop community, although their only real mainstream success was the song This Way, a 2004 collaboration with Kanye West.

DJ Babu (from the DJ crew Beat Junkies), Evidence, and Rakaa joined together in 1992 in Los Angeles, CA and released Third Degree and Work The Angles, which were quickly established as favorites in the underground scene and among rap critics. They eventually signed to Capitol and in 2000 released The Platform, to more critical acclaim. Their sophomore set Expansion Team was released in 2001, led by the Alchemist-produced single Worst Comes To Worst, which sampled from Mobb Deep's Survival Of The Fittest. Their third album, Neighborhood Watch, was released in 2004 and debuted at #55 on USA's Billboard 200 Albums Chart. In addition to the Kanye West-produced single, This Way, it also featured the single Who's Who?, which was also included as a track on the Need for Speed: Underground and SSX 3 soundtracks, and peaked at #35 on the UK Singles Chart.

In 2006, they returned with the single Back Again, produced by The Alchemist. The trio's fourth album, 20/20, debuted on February 21, 2006.

In 2007 they released The Release Party. This package included a feature-length documentary on DVD as well as EP featuring new songs and remixes. The film, released through Decon, is a celebration of the release from their contract with Capital.
