Ninepence Worth Of Walking Lyrics

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday night
Come the day when I will disappear from sight
Goodbye's made easy said with sleepy eyes
Better a tear of truth than smiling liesSummer Monday, when I met you I was real
Now it's winter Friday, I no longer feel
Will you remember me as just a friend ?
Or see the start of spring and not the end ?Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday night
Come the day when I will disappear from sight
Goodbye's made easy said with sleepy eyes
Better a tear of truth than smiling lies
If I didn't know you then, I know you now
And seeing doesn't last forever anyhow
So hold me close and kiss me with a smile
For I must leave you in a little whileWhen you wake on Monday morning, I'll be gone
Leaving with you memories of an autumn sun
If I stayed with you, we would drift apart
This way, I'm always with you in your heart
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday night

Come the day when I will disappear from sight
Goodbye's made easy said with sleepy eyes
Better a tear of truth than smiling lies

Duncan Browne (25 March 1947 — 28 May 1993) was a singer-songwriter from England whose début album "Give Me, Take You", a melancholy baroque folk album often compared to Nick Drake's albums, was released on Andrew Loog Oldham's Immediate label in 1968. Together with two other multi-instrumentalists, Peter Godwin and Sean Lyons, Browne formed the band Metro whose debut ('Metro') was released in the late '70s on the Transatlantic label.
