No Depression Lyrics

Oh fear the hearts of men are failing
These our latter days we know
The great depression now is spreadin'
God's word declared it would be soI'm goin' where there's no depression
To a better land that's free from care
I'll leave this world of toil and trouble
My home's in Heaven I'm goin' thereIn this dark hour, midnight nearing
The tribulation time will come
Storms will hurl in midnight fear
Sweep lost millions to their doomI'm goin' where there's no depression
To a better land that's free from care
I'll leave this world of toil and trouble
My home's in Heaven I'm going thereI'm goin' where there's no depression
To a better land that's free from care
I'll leave this world toil and trouble
My home's in Heaven I'm goin' thereI'm going where there's no depression
To a better land that's free from care
I'll leave this world of toil and trouble

My home's in Heaven I'm goin' there

Uncle Tupelo was an alternative country music group from Belleville, Illinois, active between 1987 and 1994. Jay Farrar, Jeff Tweedy, and Mike Heidorn formed the band after the lead singer of their previous band, The Primitives, left to attend college. The trio recorded three albums for Rockville Records, before signing with Sire Records and expanding to a five-piece. Shortly after the release of the band's major label debut album Anodyne, Farrar announced his decision to leave the band due to a soured relationship with his co-songwriter Tweedy.
