No More Parades Lyrics

Don't know if your carin' truth is worth tearin'
Though we're miles apart
Front door leavin's the way I've been feelin'
Twenty days overboardThat's the way the hinge turns, just half way round
Believe it all first, finally flickers out
No mood anymore, hold up, hammer down the stake
No more paradesGot to know a friend with a think tank
And a farm and you couldn't ask for better
Works on dreams inside of her schemes
Lives like the words in a songThat's the way the hinge turns, just half way round
Believe it all first, finally flickers out
No mood anymore, hold up, hammer down the stake
No more paradesA pesticide moon hangs cold coffee
And tears flowin' out of the brain
Shoulda caught the bus, shoulda pulled in line
Shoulda made up for that down timeThat's the way the hinge turns, just half way round
Believe it all first, finally flickers out
No mood anymore, hold up, hammer down the stake

No more parades

Son Volt is an alternative country group which formed in 1994 in St. Louis, Missouri. The band currently consists of Jay Farrar (vocals, guitar), Chris Masterson (guitar), Andrew Duplantis (bass, vocals), Mark Spencer (keyboards) and Dave Bryson (drums). Farrar is the only original member remaining in the band. Son Volt formed after the breakup of the band Uncle Tupelo, owing to the simmering creative differences between songwriters Farrar and Jeff Tweedy. The group's members lived in Minneapolis, St Louis, and New Orleans at the time.
