October Skies Lyrics

Autumn brings a song I sing so desperately
These shattered dreams from broken wings of love
October skies and city lights were all a blur
And high tide came washin' them awayI said
Alright, alright, alright
And you make the calls tonight
I surrender, this is for realChurch bells ring
The North Star seems so far from me
The coastal plane's is where my shame shall lay
Autumn trees they shed their leaves to live again
The cold air brings clarity to me, yeahI said
Alright, alright, alright
And you make the calls tonight
I surrender, this is for realI said
Alright, alright, alright
And you make the calls tonight
I surrender to your loveAnd I, I've been runnin' to nowhere
(Nowhere, nowhere)

And I, I feel something's getting clear, ooh
(Come clear, come clear)I said
Alright, alright, alright
Alright, alright, alright
I surrender, this is for realI said
Alright, alright, alright
And you make the calls tonight
And I surrender to your loveI said
Alright, alright, alright
And you make the calls tonight
I surrender, this is for realI said
Alright, alright, alright
And you make the calls tonight
And I surrender to your love

Waking Ashland was formed in November 2003 by singer/keyboardist Jonathan Jones, guitarist Ryan Lallier and drummer Thomas Lee, all of which were at that time music majors at California State University, Northridge. Robert Teegarden — a friend of the band — temporarily helped out to fill the vacant position on the bass guitar. Their band name stems from the aspect of connecting people through music, paired with a reference to the town of Ashland, Oregon.
