Oh Baby Doll Lyrics

Baby doll!
When bells ring out the summer free
Oh baby doll!
Will it end for you and me?
We'll sing our old Alma Mater
And think of things that used to beI remember it so well
Back when the weather was cool
We used to have so much fun
When we were walking to schoolIf we stopped off to hear
The latest songs they sing
And we just make it in
Before the bells would ringOh baby doll!
When bells ring out the summer free
Oh baby doll!
Will it end for you and me?
We'll sing our old Alma Mater
And think of things that used to beOh baby doll!
When bells ring out the summer free

Oh baby doll!
Will it end for you and me?
We'll sing the old Alma Mater
And think of things that used to beWhen the teacher was gone
That's when we had a ball
We use to dance and play
All up and down the hallWe had a portable radio
We was ballin' the jack
But we'd be all back in order
When the teacher got backOh baby doll!
When bells ring out the summer free
Oh baby doll!
Oh will it end for you and me?
We'll sing old Alma Mater
And think of things that used to be

In a time of trendy discotheques, bombastic arena rock, and sonic punk barbarisms, the Crawdaddys were truly a peculiarity of the late '70s. The Southern California four-piece rhythm & blues combo, led by two gifted songwriter/guitarists, Steve Potterf and Ron Silva, who began in the similar garage band the Hitmakers, shrugged off all present scenes and regressed to the past, to a Mersey-era Beatles style.
