Team K is AKB48 second team. The team first formed at February 26, 2006 with total 17 members. Their first stage is the revival of AKB48's Team A 1st Stage 「PARTYが始まるよ」; PARTY ga Hajimaru yo which first performed on April 1, 2006. However, their first original stage is Team K 2nd Stage 「青春ガールズ」; Seishun Girls which first performed on July, 2006.
Their first team captain, Akimoto Sayaka, is announced by Team Shuffle at AKB48 分身の術ツアー/AKB104選抜メンバー組閣祭り; AKB48 Bunshin no Jutsu Tour / AKB104 Senbatsu Members Sokaku Matsuri on August 2009. Later, this team called "Akimoto Team K".
