Olivia Lyrics

Lights on the river bridge roll to the water's edge
Filling the harbor with halos
The night was cold and black when they were walking back
He held her hand in the shadowsMy favorite
There is so much more to see
Why stay behind
When you could go on with me?Icicle centuries burst into gentle breeze
Somewhere a curse has been lifted
She turned around in her chair and he touched her hair
And the universe shiftedMy favorite
There is so much more to see
Why stay behind
When you could go on with me?Olivia
Won't you let your heart come home?
Olivia
Leave those wild young boys aloneOut on the stormy cliff silvery waters lift
High with a wild wind behind them
Vaporous rippling like a drug or a dream

Eyes in the lamplight were shiningMy favorite
There is so much more to see
Why stay behind
When you could go off with me?Olivia
Won't you let your heart come home?
Olivia
Leave those wild young boys alone

Edie Brickell is an American singer/songwriter, born March 10, 1966 in Dallas (Oak Cliff), Texas. In the late 1980s Brickell was the lead singer with the (now renamed) folk-rock group Edie Brickell & New Bohemians, whose 1988 debut album Shooting Rubberbands at the Stars was a critical and commercial success. The band's follow-up album, Ghost of a Dog (1990), fared less well. As a solo artist, Brickell released Picture Perfect Morning (1994) and Volcano (2003). In 2006 she reunited with some of the original members of The New Bohemians and they released the Stranger Things album.
